7. Topside Hardware/Software
A 2300 Starmux IV Power and Telemetry rackmount hardware suite is provided as the communications
and power interface to the 2300 Subsea Multiplexer and 2205 SONAR system. A network interface is
provided to go between the Starmux IV and a Topside PC to control the data acquisition and display the
resulting data. The optional Topside PC can also be mounted in the same rack as the Starmux IV along
with one or two monitors. Discover and J-Star Diagnostic software is provided on the Topside PC, (if
included), and/or a USB memory device along with system utilities and documentation. The Discover
and J-Star Diagnostic software can also be hosted on a user PC. The factory configured network
addresses are shown in table 7-1. Changes to these addresses is not recommended.
