4. Remove all protective covers and inspect the pump. If the pump is damaged, notify your supplier and the carrier
in writing within three days; state the Item Number of the pump together with your order number and your
supplier’s invoice number. Retain all packing materials for inspection. Do not use the pump if it is damaged.
5. Check that you have received the items listed in Tab le 10. If any item is missing, notify your supplier in writing
within three days
6. Look at the pump rating and identification plate and check that the pump is suitable for use in your system. If
the pump is not suitable, contact your Supplier or Edwards.
If the pump is not to be used immediately, replace the protective covers and store the pump in suitable conditions,
as described in Section 6.1.
3.4 Locate the pump
You must ensure that when the pump is in its required operating location, all of the mounting feet (on the pump or
base frame) are flat on the mounting platform to within 0.2 mm m
-1
(0.0026 inch ft
-1
).
Use the following procedure to locate the HV pump:
1. Use suitable lifting equipment to move the HV pump into its required operating location: use the appropriate
method for your pump, as described in Section 3.3.
2. Fit suitable bolts through the fixing holes in the mounting feet, to secure the pump in position. Refer to Figure 3
for fixing details.
3. Disconnect the lifting equipment from the pump.

You will receive sufficient quantity of oil to fill the pump: see Section 2.6.
Use suitable lifting equipment to move the pump. If you do not, you can injure yourself or damage
