5.5.1 Drive end cover
1. Refer to Figure 2. Look at the oil level in the sight-glass (16) on the drive end cover (2):
If the oil-level is between the minimum and maximum marks, continue at Section 5.5.2 to check the oil-level
in the non-drive end cover.
If the oil level is below the minimum level mark, continue at Step 2 to add more oil.
If the oil level is above the maximum level mark, drain oil from the pump until the level is correct: refer to
Section 5.7.
2. If the pump is operating, shut the pump down (refer to Section 4.3) and allow the pump to cool to a safe
temperature.
3. Carefully remove the oil filler-plug (4) from the filler port on the top of the drive end cover (2): refer to the
Warning at the start of Section 5.5.
4. Pour new oil of the correct type (see Section 2.6) through the filler port and into the end cover until the oil-level
reaches the maximum level mark. If the oil level goes above the maximum level mark, drain oil from the pump
until the level is correct: refer to Section 5.7.
5. Refit the oil filler-plug (4) to the filler port on the top of the drive end cover (2).
6. Continue at Section 5.5.2 to check the oil-level in the non-drive end cover.
5.5.2 Non-drive end cover
1. Refer to Figure 2. Look at the oil level in the sight-glass (16) on the non-drive end cover (9):
If the oil level is below the minimum level mark, continue at Step 2 to add more oil.
If the oil level is above the maximum level mark, drain oil from the pump until the level is correct: refer to
Section 5.7.
2. If the pump is operating, shut the pump down (refer to Section 4.3) and allow the pump to cool to a safe
temperature.
3. Carefully remove the oil filler-plug (8) from the filler port on the top of the non-drive end cover (9): refer to the
Warning at the start of Section 5.5.
4. Pour new oil of the correct type (see Section 2.6) through the filler port and into the end cover until the oil-level
reaches the maximum level mark. If the oil level goes above the maximum level mark, drain oil from the pump
until the level is correct: refer to Section 5.7.
5. Refit the oil filler-plug (8) to the filler port on the top of the non-drive end cover (9).
