4. Touch up any external surfaces where paint has chipped.
5. Treat unprotected machined surfaces (shaft ends, flanges) with a suitable corrosion protection agent.
6. Cover the pumping system with plastic sheet or PVC film. Place suitable anti-condensation materials, such as
desiccants, inside the sheet or film.
7. Store the pumping system indoors, in cool, dry, vibration and dust free conditions, at an ambient temperature of
not less than 5 °C.
8. Every 5 days, turn the liquid ring pump drive shaft and drive motor shaft through three or four rotations, to
prevent pump seizure and grease migration.
When required for use, prepare and install the pumping system as described in Section 3.
6.1.5 Disposal
Safely dispose of the liquid ring pump, seal liquid, cooling liquid and any components in accordance with all local and
national safety and environmental requirements.
Take particular care with the following:
Components that have been contaminated with hazardous substances.
Used seal liquid, or components contaminated with used seal liquid.
WARNING
Ensure that the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when preparing the
pumping system for storage.
Harmful bacteria may have propagated inside the pumping system.
