INSTALLATION
It is recommended to use end stops on a DIN rail system.

3.3 Electrical connections
1. A 2 m cable is supplied in the kit fitted with 4-40 UNC jack screws at both ends. Some of the SCU control units
use M3 jack sockets, but if applicable, the cable supplied in the kit can be used. If not, please make up a cable
according to the table below.
Note 1: The cable must not connect to any of the other 6 pins of the 9-way D-type plug (SCU end).
Note 2: It is recommended that the cable be screened with the screen connected to the backshell at each end.
2. Connect the RS232 connector of the Profibus module to connector X3A of the SCU. Do not use connector X3B of
the SCU.
3. Connect the Profibus network to the Profibus connector using standard Profibus cables. Refer to Section 3.4 for
details of bus termination.
4. Connect a suitable power supply to the DC power connector using the mating cable-mount terminal block
supplied.
WARNING
If access to the DC power connector is restricted an additional isolation device should be provided
which will be easily accessible by an operator.
