5. When the Storage parameter is due to be set select Yes and then press ENTER to store the other 12 parameter
values. Wait until the display shows "Storage OK" then press the SELECT switch to exit the parameter setting
mode.
6. Note that if during the parameter setting process no switch is pressed for 1 minute, the parameter setting mode
will end and all changes will be lost. In this event repeat the process.
3.6 SCU-800/1400/1500/1600 control unit set up
The control unit command interface and communication parameters must be set up. Either use the procedure below
or refer to the control unit manual for the procedure to do this.
1. Ensure the small slide switch on the front of the control unit labelled “REMOTE” is set to the ON position.
2. Enter the “Parameter Set Mode” by pressing the SELECT and UP switches simultaneously.
3. For each menu item the value can be changed by using the UP and DOWN buttons. The ENTER button will allow
access to sub-menus and temporarily set that parameter. The SELECT button generally has a “jump-over”
function. Note if no switch is pressed for 1 minute, the parameter setting mode will end and all changes will be
lost. In this event repeat the process.
4. 1st menu item is REMOTE MODE. Push ENTER and adjust setting (UP/DOWN buttons) until the value shown is
COM1. Press ENTER to temporarily store.
5. 2nd menu item is Speed Setpoint. Push SELECT to leave unchanged.
6. 3rd menu item is TMS function. Push SELECT to leave unchanged.
7. 4th menu item is Inhibit Command. Push SELECT to leave unchanged.
8. 5th menu item is Leak Valve Option. Push SELECT to leave unchanged.
9. 6th menu item is Warning function. Push SELECT to leave this parameter unchanged.
10.7th menu item is COM1 Set. Push ENTER as this must be correct.
Set Baud Rate to 9600 and push ENTER.
Set Bit length to 8 and push ENTER.
Set Stop bit to 1 and push ENTER>
Set Parity to None and push ENTER.
Set Driver type to RS232 and push ENTER.
RS485 ID push SELECT to leave unchanged.
Push SELECT to exit COM1 Menu.
11.Next menu item is COM2 Set. Push SELECT to leave unchanged.
12.Next menu item is STORAGE. Select YES then push ENTER to start the storage process and wait until the display
shows “Storage OK”. N.B. for successful storage the pump must be connected to the control unit.
13.After “Storage OK” message push ENTER.
14.The SCU then provides the opportunity to modify the date and time. Press SELECT to leave unchanged.
3.7 STP-iX455 series control unit set up
COM1 RS-232 settings need to be as factory default values (Baud Rate: 9,600 bps; Bit Length: 8 bit; Stop Bit: 1 bit;
Parity: None; Drive Type: RS232).
In order to obtain control by Profibus the iX-455 control unit must also be set up for remote operation. See
Section 9.2.4 of the control unit manual (“Input Operation Port Setting”) for instructions on how to do this.
