- PCB Preparation: The liquid metal from the CPU heat spreader must be cleaned, taking care not to damage the protective foam around the CPU.
- Monoblock Preparation: This involves removing the backplate from the monoblock and carefully placing thermal pads on designated areas. Thermal grease is applied to the GPU heat spreader (IHS) in a thin, even layer.
- Antenna Placement: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas are reused from the original PS5 casing and placed into designated holders on the monoblock. The design allows for rotating an antenna mount to accommodate an additional SSD disc.
- PCB Installation: The PS5 PCB is carefully positioned onto the monoblock, ensuring alignment with standoffs and the power connector. Screws and standoffs are then used to secure the PCB.
