Disk drives
The disk drives for the 4U, 60 (2.5- or 3.5-inch) DAE are encased in cartridge-style
enclosures. This enclosure is used so that varied types and sizes of disk drives can be
supported. Each cartridge has an easy-to-pull and push latch. The latch allows you to
quickly and efficiently snap-out a disk drive for removal and snap-in for installation.
Two drive sizes are supported in the 4U, 60 (2.5- or 3.5-inch) DAE:

You can add or remove a disk drive while the DAE is powered up, but you should exercise
special care when removing modules while they are in use. Drive modules are extremely
sensitive electronic components.
◆ 2.5-inch 6-Gb/s SAS, 6-Gb/s NL-SAS, or Flash disk drives (hot-swappable)
◆ 3.5-inch 6-Gb/s SAS, 6-Gb/s NL-SAS, or Flash disk drives (hot-swappable)
