Instrument recognition Testing and measuring equipment
Test setup
• The test specimen is connected via the VIO 3 electrosurgical unit to the
power supply.
Test procedure
1. Call up <Test Program Instrument recognition>.
2. Plug a 20100-189 measurement cable into the MF-U socket. The test
program must show the measuring cable data record on APC 3, slot 1.
– Slot naming in test program (UNI for MF-U socket)
3. Terminate the test program with <Close>.
4. Stay in the test program list for the next test step.

Test setup
• The test specimen is connected via the VIO 3 electrosurgical unit to the
power supply.
Test procedure
1. Call up <Test Program Plugging recognition>.
2. Plug a 20192-110 cable into the MF-U socket. The test program must
perform the following actions on APC 3, slot 1:
– Connector type is detected: Display "not plugged" switches to
monopolar (in the case of a monopolar cable) or bipolar (in the
case of a bipolar cable) display.
– Plugging counter is increased by one: XM (=monopolar connector),
XB (=bipolar connector). The plugging counter can be reset using
"Reset"
3. Unplug cable.
4. Repeat the test with cable 20196-053 and 20196-055.
5. Terminate the test program with <Close>.
6. Exit the Service settings.

IMPORTANT! The socket is tested with three different cables. This ensures that all
relevant plugging contacts are detected.
