Network Controllers Manual 37
Installation
Caution: Disconnect power before removing or installing module.
The CPU card is installed in connector P4 of the control module
mother board.
Troubleshooting
The CPU failure LED is located on the associated power supply.
Defective CPU’s may be identified by substitution with a known
good CPU card. Make sure Firmware is compatible with unit.
A CPU card can be configured for use in either a CM1N or CM2N
by installing the appropriate firmware chip in socket U3.
The memory chip in socket U4 contains information specific to the
address of the controller in which it is installed. When substituting
CPU cards, it is necessary to:
1. Download new information into the CPU using the address of the
controller where the CPU card is to be tested.
2. Install the EEPROM memory chip U4 from the suspect CPU card
into the known good CPU card.
