Communications Speed 9600 Baud, Max
Firmware Compatibility The COMM-3S is compatible with all
versions of network firmware.
Installation
Caution: Disconnect power before removing or installing module.
The COMM-3S card plugs into connector P3 on the control module
mother board. Every control module requires a communications card.
Field Wiring
Control module mother board terminal strip TB1 is wired as follows
when a COMM-3S card is installed in mother board connector P3.
TB1-1 RS-232C Device Supervision
TB1-2 RS-232C Common
TB1-3 RS-232C Receive
TB1-4 RS-232C Transit
TB1-5-10 No Connection
Connections
P2 A 10 conductor ribbon cable (P/N 250099) plugs into
connector P2 for all connections to the serial interface
modules. Refer to interface module data sheets for wiring
specifics.
Indicators
LD1 Red LED. LED activity indicates CPU is communicating
through the COMM-3S.
Programming Notes
The CM1(N),(RMDP-1N) panel configuration menu communications
baud rate (under item “D” of the Master Configuration Menu) in the
data entry program should be set at “9600” baud. This is the default.
