All Evolis printers can be tted with a TCP/IP network connection. This function is available as standard on the Zenius Expert.
Out of the box, the printer comes congured in DHCP mode (Dynamic Host Conguration Protocol), which means that its IP address is
supplied by the network. In addition to these basic settings, the network administrator has the option of conguring the printer differently
in order to comply with the constraints imposed by the corporate LAN:
n Printe r c o nne c te d in a sub ne t, in DHC P mo d e
n Printer connected to a subnet in xed IP address mode, with WINS resolution
n Printer connected to a subnet in xed IP address mode, without WINS resolution
The printer may be identied on the network in two ways:
n By its Hostname (NETBIOS)
n By its IP a d d re ss.

The user-denable settings are:

n Gateway
n WINS server
Changing the printer’s basic settings, without prior knowledge of the layout of the LAN in question or without genuine
te c hnic al kno wle dg e m ay re sult in a m alfunc tio n o f the printe r, and may e ve n e xte nd to a m o re wide spre ad failure o f all
