Adjustments
Note:DisengagePTO,shutoffengine,waitfor
allmovingpartstostop,engageparkingbrake,and
removekeybeforeservicing,cleaning,ormakingany
adjustmentstotheunit.
AdjustingtheCuttingHeight
Thecuttingheightofthemowerdeckisadjusted
from1inchto41/4inches(2.54cmto11.4cm)in
1/4inch(.64cm)incrementsbyadjustingtheaxle
position,numberofspacersbelowthecasterhub,
andnumberofspacersbetweenbladeandspindle.
RefertotheCuttingHeightAdjustmenttableand
selectacuttingheightrangeinthelefthandcolumn
whichcorrespondstotherangeofcuttingheights
youwillmostoftenbeusing.Adjustmentswithinthis
rangecanthenbemadebyadjustingthenumberof
bladespacersbetweenthebladeandthebottomof
thespindle(thisisamucheasieradjustmenttomake
thanadjustingaxlepositionandnumberofspacers
belowcastersupporthub).
Notethat:
Forthebestcutanddischarge,placeaminimum
oftwospacersbetweenthebladeandthespindle.
Forhighestqualitycut,placeallfourspacers
betweenthebladeandthespindle.
Ifmulchingkitisinstalled,thehighestqualitycut
canbeobtainedwith3spacersbetweentheblade
andthespindle(minimumis1foragoodcut).
Whenmulchingleavesitisbesttohavefewer
spacersbetweenbladeandspindle.
Refertothetableandselectdesiredcuttingheight
range.RefertoAdjustingtheAxlePosition,
AdjustingtheNumberofSpacersbelowCaster
SupportHub,andAdjustingtheCutting
HeightwithBladeSpacersandsectionstomake
adjustmentsmakeadjustmenttoobtainspecic
cuttingheight.
