Note:Inthe“medium”or“heavyduty”
positions,thedriveleverforcesattheupper
handlewillalsobeincreased.

1.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Disengagetheparkbrake.
3.Removethehairpininthelowerparkbrake
linkage.Turnthelinkageintheyokeuntilthereis
3/16inch(.48cm)to1/4inch(.64cm)clearance
betweentheparkbraketirebarsandthetireswith
theparkbrakedisengaged.Re-installthehairpin.
Cleaning
CleaningandStoringSafety
Parkmachineonlevelground,disengagedrives,
setparkingbrake,stopengine,removekey,
anddisconnectsparkplugwire.Waitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperator’s
position.Allowthemachinetocoolbefore
servicing,adjusting,fueling,cleaning,orstoring.
Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunit,
mufer,drives,grasscatcher,andengine
compartmenttopreventres.
Allowthemachinetocoolbeforestoringthe
machineinanyenclosure.Donotstorethe
machineorfuelcontainer,orrefuel,wherethere
isanopename,spark,orpilotlightsuchasona
waterheaterorotherappliance.
CleanDebrisFromMachine
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Cleanoffanyoil,debris,orgrassbuild-uponthe
machineandcuttingdeck,especiallyunderdeck
beltshields,aroundthefueltank,aroundengine
andexhaustarea.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,
aroundtheengine,hydraulicpumps,and
motors.
