Cleaning the gasket and shower plate
When placing the porta-lter lled with grinded coffee into the brewing group, left overs will
accumulate in the closing surface. If these remains are excessive it can prevent a good closing between
the porta-lter and the group head. Moreover, these remains can even block the dispensing of water
through the group head.
To prevent this perform the following cleaning:
Place the cleaning membrane in the lter basket (without detergent).
Insert the porta-lter in the group head, but do not tighten fully (the porta-lter should be loose).
Press the Continuous Dispensing button on the button panel.
Make an opening-closing movement of the porta-lter in place without closing it. Water will now
ow around the porta-lter, owing through the closing surface and cleaning it.
Remove the porta-lter from the group head.
Clean the shower and gasket with a soft brush to remove any coffee remains.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Take special care to avoid scalding when
performing this cleaning operation, as the hot
water used to clean the gasket will spill over
the sides of the porta-lter.
WARNING!
Do not fully tighten the porta-lter. If fully
tightened, high-pressure water may spray out
and cause scalding or serious injury.
