3 Remove the blank front panel from the front of the BlackDiamond switch (see Figure 78).

4 Install an I/O module or MSM in the open slot as described in “Installing a BlackDiamond 8000
Series Module” on page 111.
NOTE
Leave the ESD-preventive wrist strap permanently connected to the switch, so that the strap is always available
when you need to handle ESD-sensitive components.
