Why is my Fanimation Fan so noisy?
    • B
      Brian SuttonAug 19, 2025
A noisy Fanimation Fan can be caused by several factors: 1. Ensure the blades are properly attached to the fan. 2. Check and tighten any loose screws in the motor housing, but avoid overtightening. 3. Make sure the screws securing the fan blade holders to the motor flywheel are tight. 4. Verify that wire connectors inside the switch housing aren't rattling against each other or the housing's interior wall. Remember to turn off the main power before checking! 5. Be aware that some fan motors are sensitive to solid-state variable speed controls, which can cause motor noise. Consider using an alternative control method. 6. Securely tighten any loose screws holding the blades to the blade holders.

Excessive wobbling in your Fanimation Fan can often be resolved by checking and adjusting the following: * Tighten both setscrews securely in the downrod support. * Tighten the setscrew in the downrod/hanger ball assembly. * Ensure the screws attaching the fan blade holders to the blades are tight. * Check that the fan blade holders seat firmly and uniformly to the surface of the motor housing; loosen and retighten the screws if they don't. * Tighten the hanger bracket screws to the outlet box and secure the outlet box itself. * Balance the blades using the balance kit provided.
