To check the accuracy of the crosscut fence, perform the test as shown in the
tolerancing information. Alternatively, as most tape measures cannot be accurate
beyond 0.5mm, make a five sided cut and mea
sure the off-cut with a pair of vernier
calipers.
Figure SS05.1 shows the five sided cut for this side of the outrigger, the possible mis-
alignments and the relative position of the crosscut fence (greatly exaggerated!).
