1 Important information
1.1 Designated use
The controller CECC documented in this manual is exclusively intended for installation in a machine or
automated system.
The device is used for:
controlling pneumatic and electric drives
interrogating electric sensor signals
communication via Ethernet.
The CECC must only be used as follows:
as designated in industrial applications
in its original condition without unauthorised modifications; only the conversions or modifications
described in the documentation supplied with the product are permitted
in faultless technical condition
only in combination with released components (e.g. valves, drive/displacement encoder
combinations).
Make sure that all specified limits for temperature, electrical data, etc. are adhered to.
Observe all local and national laws and regulations.
All notes on designated use, the safety instructions and all further provisions for the CECC also
apply to the associated software libraries.
1.1.1 Safety instructions
Protection against dangerous movements
Warning
The connected actuators are subject to high acceleration forces.
Uncontrolled movements can cause collisions which can lead to serious injury.
Dangerous movements of connected drives can be caused, for example, by:
untidy or faulty wiring
errors during component operation
faults in the transducers and signal generators
defective or non-EMC-compliant components
faults in the higher-order control system
programming errors in user programs and projects.
Switching off load voltage is not a proper inhibit mechanism. Unintentional movement of drives
may occur in the event of a malfunction.
Before carrying out assembly, installation and maintenance work, place the system in a safe
state (e.g. by placing the drive in a safe position and deactivating the controller).
The power supply must be switched off before working in the area of the machine.
Make sure that nobody enters the positioning range of the drives or other connected actuators.
The load voltage supply should only be switched on if the system has been installed and
parameterised by technically qualified staff.
