What to do if my Fisher Spreader does not operate but the indicator light is on?
    • A
      Ashley PrestonJul 26, 2025
If your Fisher Spreader isn't working but the indicator light is on, there could be a few reasons. First, if you have a Variable Speed Control, the over-current protection might be activated due to an overloaded condition. Try turning the power off to reset the cab control, then press the START/BLAST switch to continue. Another possibility is damaged wiring or an open circuit between the cab control and the spreader. Inspect the plug connections at both the cab control and the spreader, and check the wire connections at the spreader motor and vehicle battery. If you find damaged wires or connectors, repair or replace them. Also, check the 30A in-line fuse and replace it if needed. Finally, if the spreader motor isn't running, and the shaft won't turn, you'll need to replace the motor.

Why does my Fisher Spreader spinner not turn even though the motor is running?
    • M
      Michael WalshJul 31, 2025
If the motor of your Fisher Spreader is running but the spinner isn't turning, there are several things to check. First, make sure there isn't anything blocking the spinner's rotation and clear any obstructions. Next, examine the drive belt to see if it's loose or damaged; adjust the tension or replace the belt if needed. Also, verify that the motor pulley is securely attached to the motor shaft and tighten the set screw if it's loose, or replace the pulley if damaged. Check that the spinner pulley is properly attached to the spinner shaft; replace the cap screw and nut if they are missing or damaged, and replace the pulley if it's damaged. Lastly, the spinner shaft bearings may be dry or seized, so grease or replace the bearings.

How to troubleshoot no power to the cab control of my Fisher 1000?
    • T
      taylorcolemanAug 6, 2025
If there's no power to the cab control of your Fisher Spreader and the indicator lights aren't on, start by checking the plug connection at the cab control to ensure it's secure. Then, inspect the battery lead in-line fuse and replace it (30 A) if it's blown, and look for any short circuits. Also, check the battery connection for any issues; make sure the battery isn't low, and clean or replace the ring terminal, coating it with dielectric grease. Examine the battery wiring harness for damage and repair or replace any damaged wires or the entire harness. If you have an older ON/OFF control, the control circuit breaker might be tripped; turn the control OFF, reset the circuit breaker, and then turn the control ON.

What to do if ice control material is not flowing from my Fisher 1000 Spreader even when the spinner is turning?
    • C
      carrilloaliciaAug 10, 2025
If the ice control material isn't flowing from your Fisher Spreader while the spinner is turning, it's likely due to bridging of the material or an obstruction in the hopper. To resolve this, unplug the spreader harness and tag it out if necessary. Then, inspect the hopper for any material that has bridged together or any obstructions, and clear them out.

Why does the speed control dial not change the motor speed on my Fisher 1000?
    • K
      Kristin MartinezAug 16, 2025
If the speed control dial on your Fisher Spreader's Variable Speed (PWM) cab control isn't changing the motor speed, the cab control may be malfunctioning, and you may need to replace it. Another potential cause is that the red and white connectors are incorrectly hooked up. Ensure they are correctly connected, matching red to red and white to white.
