If the spinner on your Fisher Spreader isn't turning but the motor is running, here's what you can check: * First, see if there's an obstruction preventing rotation and clear it. * Second, inspect the drive belt for looseness or damage; adjust the tension or replace the belt if needed. * Third, make sure the motor pulley is secured to the motor shaft; tighten the pulley set screw or replace the pulley if it's damaged. * Fourth, verify the spinner pulley is secured to the spinner shaft; replace the cap screw and nut if they're missing or damaged, and replace the pulley if it's damaged. * Fifth, check the spinner shaft bearings; grease them or replace them if they're dry or seized.

What to do if ice control material is not flowing from my Fisher Speed-Caster?
    • R
      Ryan WintersAug 10, 2025
If ice control material isn't flowing from your Fisher Spreader even when the spinner is turning, it's likely due to bridging of the material or an obstruction in the hopper. To resolve this, unplug the spreader harness and tag out if required, then check the hopper for material and free any bridged material or obstruction.

Why speed control dial does not change motor speed on Fisher Spreader?
    • A
      Ana ArnoldAug 16, 2025
If the speed control dial on your Variable Speed (PWM) cab control does not change the motor speed on your Fisher Spreader, it could be due to a malfunctioning cab control, in which case you should replace it. Another cause could be that the red and white connectors are incorrectly hooked up. Reconnect them so that red matches red and white matches white.

What to do if my Fisher Spreader does not operate but the indicator light is on?

      Lisa DunlapOct 26, 2025
If the Fisher Spreader does not operate but the indicator light(s) are on, it could be due to several reasons. First, an overloaded condition might be activating the over-current protection (only on Variable Speed Controls). Try resetting the cab control by turning the power off and then depressing the START/BLAST switch to resume operation. Second, the wire harness could be damaged or have an open circuit between the cab control and the spreader. Check the plug connections at both the cab control and the spreader. Also, inspect the wire connections at the spreader motor and the vehicle battery. Disconnect the motor leads, turn the control on, set the cab control to maximum on variable speed controls, and check for voltage at the motor leads. Repair or replace any damaged wires and connect...

    • D
      David WaltersNov 4, 2025
If you have no power to the cab control of your Fisher Spreader, and the ignition and control switches are on, but there's no illumination of indicator lights, here’s what to check: 1. Ensure the control connector plug is securely connected at the cab control. 2. Check the battery lead in-line fuse. Replace the fuse (4 pin harness- 6 amp fuse; 3 pin-10 amp) and inspect for short circuits. Check the power supply for 12V DC. 3. Examine the battery connection. Check for a low battery and clean or replace the ring terminal, then coat it with dielectric grease. 4. Inspect the battery wiring harness for any damage. Repair or replace any damaged wires or the entire harness as needed. 5. If it's an ON/OFF Control, set the control to the OFF position, reset the circuit breaker, and then set t...
