The Effects
86
The Mixer is a simple linear mixer that mixes the four rows feeding the block according to the gains
for each row. The Mixer allows you to fine-tune levels, or cross-fade between effects. This is
especially useful for cross-fading amps or delays.
Each gain control corresponds to a row in the routing matrix. To adjust, for example, the gain for
the effect in row two preceding this block, simply adjust
GAIN2.
The
BAL controls allow you to select the balance of left and right from each row summed into the
outputs. This is useful if you have differing signals in the left and right channels on a row. For
example, you can use set up a routing where two amp blocks feed a single cabinet block with one
amp panned hard left, the other panned hard right. You can now fade between the two amp blocks
using the
BAL control. Attach the BAL control to a modifier for real-time control.
The controls are linear (as opposed to logarithmic like most other gain controls). This makes setting
up cross-fades much easier.
Volume / Pan
The Volume / Pan block is a simple level and pan control block. It allows you to insert level and
pan controls at any point in the routing matrix. It is a great way to control the level into or out of
effects using an expression pedal.
The Volume / Pan block also contains individual left and right pan controls. These controls allow
you to adjust the placement of the left and right output signals in the stereo field. You can use these
controls to turn a stereo signal into two mono outputs (set both to 0.0), or reduce the stereo
separation or as general stereo manipulation tools.
VOLUME -
Sets the volume level out of the block.
BALANCE -
Sets the balance (L/R) out of the block.
VOLUME TAPER -
Sets the “taper” of the volume control. Linear selects a linear taper. LOG A
selects a logarithmic taper where the attenuation is 10 dB when the volume control is at 5.00.
LOG
B
selects a log taper where the attenuation is 20 dB at midscale.
PANL -
Controls the panning of the left output signal.
PANR -
Controls the panning of the right output signal.
BYP MODE -
Sets the bypass mode: Thru passes the input to the output when bypassed. Mute mutes
the output when bypassed. You can attach a modifier to this to control the bypass state using a
controller. When the modifier is less than 50% the block will be bypassed.
Feedback Send / Return
The Feedback Send and Return blocks allow you to feedback sound from one point in the routing
to any other point.
