SECTION 4 - COMPONENT TEAR DOWN
Seal Seat
The seal seat is pressed on the drive shaft under the trunion
(large or standard).
To remove the seal seat:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap, wash plate, spin tub, and trunion (large or standard).
2. Immobilize the drive shaft by gripping the wash group
shaft pulley and grasp the seal seat with the other hand
and rotate it as you pull it off the shaft.
Seal Head
The seal head is pressed on the drive shaft under the seal
seat.
To remove the seal head:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap, wash plate, spin tub, trunion (large or standard),
and seal seat.
2. Gripping a screwdriver at both ends, place its shaft under
the upper lip of the seal head and pry upward.
Internal Slinger
The internal slinger is pressed on the drive shaft under the
seal head.
To remove the internal slinger:
1. Disconnect the washer from electrical source and remove
the front panel, top panel, splash tub cover, wash plate
cap, wash plate, spin tub, trunion (large or standard),
seal seat, and seal head.
2. Grip internal slinger and pull straight up drive shaft.
IMPORTANT
• DO NOT apply any lube as you reinstall the internal slinger.
• Reinsert slinger all the way down to the bearing housing.
IMPORTANT
• DO NOT apply any lube as you reinstall the seal seat.
• DO NOT insert the seal seat deeper than the shoulder of
the drive shaft. Allow the trunion to draw the seal seat
down to the correct installation depth as you tighten the
trunion to drive shaft bolt (550-600 in-lbs.)
IMPORTANT
• DO NOT apply any lube as you reinstall the seal head.
• Ensure the lower lip of the seal head is completely seated
in the splash tub bearing housing.
