Connecting an analog telephone to FRITZ!Box Fon
2.6 Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the
Computer
FRITZ!Box Fon can be connected to two computers directly,
via a USB port and a network (LAN) port. If you would like to
connect more than two computers to FRITZ!Box Fon at the
same time, you can connect a network hub or switch to the
LAN port of the FRITZ!Box Fon so that all of its features can be
provided for a small network.
Please note:
z If you would like to connect FRITZ!Box Fon to your com-
puter by means of the LAN port, first make sure that
your computer is equipped with a LAN port. A LAN port
is usually designated by the icon at left or labeled
“LAN”.
For more information, see the instructions in the sec-
tion “Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the LAN Port” from
page 19.
z If your computer is not equipped with a LAN port, con-
nect FRITZ!Box Fon using the USB port. If you would like
to connect FRITZ!Box Fon to your computer using a USB
cable, you must install the driver software from the
FRITZ!Box Fon CD on the computer.
Read the section that describes the installation for your
operating system in the section “Connecting FRITZ!Box
Fon to the USB Port of a Computer” from page 22.
