The guidebook contains detailed instructions on the follow-

6.1 Linking Up the Cable Network
Extending the length of the FRITZ!Box Fon cables is no prob-
lem. Cables of the desired length can be purchased at any
computer store. Be sure to note the type of cable, and re-
member that the quality of the line may decrease as the
distance from the hub increases.
Follow the instructions below when purchasing extension ca-
bles:
z to extend the LAN, DSL and the ISDN/analog cable, use
the 10BT network cable, wired 1:1 with the following fea-
tures:
– STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) should be used for the
LAN cable
– UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) is suitable for the DSL
and ISDN/analog cable
Also note the following maximum cable lengths:
z DSL cable: 100 m
z DSL cable: 20 m
z ISDN/analog cable: 20 m
z USB cable: 3 m
