2.7 Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the LAN
Port
Using a LAN cable, FRITZ!Box Fon can be connected to the
computer in just a few steps. If you would like to connect a
network to FRITZ!Box Fon in order to connect several comput-
ers with DSL, then connect FRITZ!Box Fon to a network hub or
switch using the LAN cable.
Connection with the LAN cable functions independent of the
operating system. All computers must be equipped with a
network adapter (Ethernet card).

Connecting FRITZ!Box Fon to the LAN Port of a
Computer
You will need the red LAN cable for this step.
1. Connect FRITZ!Box Fon to the mains power supply and
to DSL as described on page 14.
2. Switch on your computer.
3. Insert one end of the red LAN cable to the computer’s
network adapter.
4. Connect the other end of the LAN cable to the socket on
FRITZ!Box Fon labeled “LAN”.
