Please follow the safety n otes provided in the "Safety/Regulations" manua l
as well as the safety notes given below.
Please pay special attention to the sections in the manual marked
with the symbo l on the left.
When connecting and disconnecting cables, observe the relevant
notes in this operating manual.
Read the information on the ambient conditions in the "
Techn ical data",
Pag e 78 and "First-time s etup of your device", Page 15 before preparing your
notebook for use a nd switching it on for the first time.
When cleaning the device, please observe the r elevant notes in the
section "
Cleaning the notebook", Page 14.
Pay attention to the additional safe ty notes for devices with radio c ompo nents
provided in the "Safety/Regulations" manua l.

Additional safety notes for devices with
radio components

If a radio component (Wireless LAN, Bluetoot h, UMTS) is integrated in your notebook, y ou
must be sure to observe the following safety notes w hen using your notebo ok:
• Switch off the radio components when you are in an aircraft or driving in a car.
• Switch off the radio comp onents when you are in a hospital, an operating room or near a m edical
electronics system. The transmitted radio waves can impair the operation of medical device s.
• Switch off the radio components when you let the device get near flammable
gases or into hazardous environments (e.g. petrol station, paintshops), as the
transmitted radio waves can cause an explosion or a fire.
