9 SAS controller

I In the chapter you will find the description of the upgrade from SAS IME
controller to SAS RAID controller. The conversion from SAS RAID to
SAS IME is correspondingly.
9.1 Upgrading a SAS controller
I A SAS controller is required for operating internal hard disk drives. For
this purpose a SAS IME or a SAS RAID controller is available.
Ê Open the server as described in the chapter “Preparation” on page 21.
Ê Remove the air duct, see “Removing the air duct” on page 22.

Ê Fasten the slot cover (low-profile) with the two screws in the square holes.
Ê Insert the RAID key.
