8.2.2.2 Installing a non-hot-plug expansion card

Ê Open the expansion card lock by lifting it up (1).
The expansion card is now mechanically unlocked.
Ê Remove the slot cover (2).
V CAUTION!
Keep the slot cover of the PCI slot. If you remove the controller again
and do not replace it with a new one, the slot cover must be
reinstalled to comply with EMC regulations and to satisfy cooling
requirements and fire protection measures.
Ê Insert the new expansion card into the provided slot.
Ê Close the expansion card lock by folding it down. Make sure that the
expansion card lock engages.
Ê If necessary, connect the cables on the expansion card.
Ê Close the server (see "Opening/Closing the server" on page 125).
