8-4 Interpreting AutoSummary Results
The final “Detector Result” represents the combined results for each group of scans, for both phantoms. The
result will fall into one of the following categories.
P Detector Passed
RA Results are inconclusive, most likely not to be the detector
RB Results are inconclusive, not likely to be the detector
RC Results are inconclusive, not likely to be the detector
FA Detector Failed
FB Detector Failed
RD Results are inconclusive, may be detector related
RE Results are inconclusive, may be detector related
Check the AutoSummary final Detector result and read the appropriate section below to determine what action (if
any) to take in order to assure optimum performance of the system.
PASS (P):
AutoSummary results indicate that this system does not exhibit a slope artifact problem. If the customer is
reporting artifact problems, you should perform system troubleshooting (see section 8-9-12) to isolate the cause.
Note that a PASS does not rule out the detector, only that it rules out a slope problem with the detector.
INCONCLUSIVE: Not likely to be the detector (RA, RB, RC):
AutoSummary is unable to determine if the system is exhibiting a slope problem or not. These conditions are
highly unlikely to be caused by a slope problem with the detector, since most or all of the slope images pass the
spot and smudge tests. Perform usual system troubleshooting (see section 8-9-12) to isolate the cause, then
rerun AutoTest and AutoSummary after correcting any problems. It is likely that the final AutoSummary result will
indicate PASS after other system problems have been eliminated.
INCONCLUSIVE: May be detector related (RD, RE):
AutoSummary is unable to determine if the system is exhibiting a slope problem or not. These conditions could be
caused by a slope problem with the detector, another system problem, or multiple problems. Perform usual
system troubleshooting (see section 8-9-12) to isolate the cause, then rerun AutoTest and AutoSummary after
correcting any problems. If your AutoSummary results repeatedly fall into this category after making all other
necessary fixes, then you should order a replacement detector.
FAIL (FA, FB):
AutoSummary has determined that the system fails the slope detector test. The detector should be replaced as
soon as possible to avoid slope artifacts in patient scanning.
