Chapter 2. Error Codes and Screen Messages
2.1 Introduction
The Model GF868 ultrasonic flowmeter is a reliable, easy to maintain instrument. When properly installed and
operated, as described in the Startup Guide, the meter provides accurate flow rate measurements with minimal user
intervention. However, if a problem should arise with the electronics console, the transducers or the flowcell, a built-in
error code message system greatly simplifies the troubleshooting process.
All of the possible Model GF868 error code messages are discussed in this chapter, along with the possible causes and
the recommended actions. When an error code is generated, it will appear on the active pane of the display screen in the
location shown in Figure 7.

Note: For a 2-Channel Model GF868, the channel number is displayed in front of the error message. Only the error
message appears with a 1-Channel Model GF868.
If an error message appears on the display screen during operation of the Model GF868, refer to the appropriate section
of this chapter for instructions on how to proceed.
