Why are the work lights not functioning properly on my Gehl SL3635?
    • J
      Joseph GreenSep 10, 2025
If the work lights on your Gehl Compact Loader are not functioning properly: * If a single light doesn’t work, the light bulb may be burned out, or there could be faulty wiring. Check and replace the light bulb as needed. * If no lights work at all, a 15 ampere breaker may be tripped. Check the circuit and locate the trouble before replacing the fuse. * There could be a faulty light switch or poor ground. Replace the light switch.

What to do if lift/tilt controls fail to respond on Gehl SL3635 Compact Loader?
    • C
      Christine MitchellAug 23, 2025
If the lift/tilt controls on your Gehl Compact Loader fail to respond: * The hydraulic oil viscosity may be too heavy. Allow a longer warm-up or replace it with the proper viscosity oil. * The hydraulic oil level may be low. Check the oil level in the reservoir; if it's low, check for an external leak, repair it, and add oil. * A solenoid valve may be malfunctioning. Check electrical connections to the lift solenoid and repair.

What causes jerky lift arm and bucket action on my Gehl SL3635 Compact Loader?
    • M
      Michelle FullerAug 25, 2025
Jerky lift arm and bucket action on your Gehl Compact Loader can be caused by: * A seat or restraint bar switch malfunction. Check electrical connections to the switches and replace as needed. * Air in the hydraulic system. Cycle lift/tilt cylinders to maximum stroke and maintain pressure for a short time to clear air from the system. * Low oil in the hydraulic reservoir. Check and add oil.

What causes no response from hydrostatic drive or lift/tilt systems on Gehl SL3635?
    • T
      Tiffany MaloneAug 27, 2025
If there is no response from either the hydrostatic drive or the lift/tilt systems on your Gehl Compact Loader: * The hydraulic oil viscosity might be too heavy. Allow a longer warm-up or replace existing oil with the proper viscosity oil. * The hydraulic oil supply may be too low. Check for a low oil level in the reservoir. * There may be a drive coupling failure. Replace the coupling.

What to do if auxiliary hydraulics do not function on Gehl SL3635?
    • J
      jpayneAug 28, 2025
If the auxiliary hydraulics on your Gehl Compact Loader do not function: * Make sure the restraint bar is lowered. * If the lock solenoid is malfunctioning, check electrical connections to the lock solenoid and repair connections as needed.

What to do if the instrument panel lamps do not work on Gehl SL3635?
    • C
      Connie ArmstrongSep 22, 2025
If there are no instrument panel lamps when the keyswitch is turned to “ON” on your Gehl Compact Loader, check circuit and locate trouble before resetting breaker, clean battery terminals and cables and retighten them.

Why is my Gehl SL3635 Compact Loader hydrostatic drive noisy?
    • R
      reidtraceySep 8, 2025
A noisy hydrostatic drive system in your Gehl Compact Loader may be due to: * Hydraulic oil viscosity being too heavy. Allow a longer warm-up or replace the existing oil with the proper viscosity oil. * Air in the hydraulic system. Cycle the lift and tilt cylinders to maximum stroke and maintain pressure for a short time to clear air from the system.

What causes sluggish response to acceleration in my Gehl Compact Loader?
    • M
      Megan PayneSep 6, 2025
A sluggish response to acceleration in your Gehl Compact Loader can be caused by: * Air in the hydraulic system. Cycle the lift and tilt cylinders to maximum stroke and maintain pressure for a short time to clear air from the system. * The hydraulic oil supply being too low. Check for a low oil level in the reservoir. * Low hydrostatic system charge pressure. Add oil.

What should I do if my Gehl SL3635 engine overheats?
    • H
      Hannah DavisSep 7, 2025
If your Gehl Compact Loader engine overheats: * Check the crankcase oil level; if it's too low or too high, add or remove oil as required. * Ensure fan air circulation is not blocked or restricted. With the engine OFF, remove any blockage or restriction. * Make sure you are using the proper grade of oil and that it is not excessively dirty. Drain and replace with the proper grade of new oil. * Ensure the exhaust is not restricted. Allow exhaust to cool, remove restriction. * Check the air filter and replace it if it is restricted.
