ś Keep the battery securely mounted.
ś Keep the battery top clean and dry.
ś Keep the terminals and connections
clean, tight, and coated with
petroleum jelly or terminal grease.
ś Rinse any spilled electrolyte from the
battery immediately with a solution of
water and baking soda.
ś If the vehicle is not going to be used
for an extended time, disconnect the
battery cables.
ś Inspect the battery frequently and
keep the battery clean at all times.
Leaving the battery contaminated will
shorten battery life.
ś Before recharging the battery or
performing any inspections, turn off
the vehicle and turn off all electrical
equipment.
Battery Replacement

When replacing the battery, disconnect
negative (-) cable (1) and remove positive
(+) battery fuse box (2). Reassemble in
the reverse order of disassembly.
Information
For vehicles with power trunks, note that
the power trunk needs to be reset after
the battery has been replaced. For more
details, refer to “Power Trunk” section in
chapter 5.
NOTICE
Make sure the battery is installed
securely when the it is replaced. If the
battery vibrates while driving, the case
and electrode plate can be damaged.
