Listen to the Financial Times Apps
the likes of This American Life. The Money Show concentrates on
finance, the specialist subject of the Financial Times, and World
Weekly takes a wider geographical look at global economics. No
matter what your preference, you can add all of them to the News
list by going to ‘More settings’, selecting ‘News’ and then ticking all
of the FT titles. When you are back in your list of news sources you
can now change the order so that maybe an FT title is at the top for
the next time you ask Google Home to play news without a source
specified. Besides the setting up there is no more interaction aside
from asking Google Home to play an FT-based episode.
Sit back and enjoy
This is ideal when you think about it, because
it means that the content can be accessed
without any delays and you do not have to
think about special commands to get your
daily fix of financial information. Like some
other news sources Google Home is able
to present information in a way that makes
reading longer articles on websites feel like a
time-consuming chore. It feels a little alien at
first, but over time it will feel like second nature to ask Google Home
for your content and to then sit back and listen to it, or even to let
it play in the background while you are doing something else. It is
surprising just how much information we can take in when content
is playing in the background, and it offers further evidence that
Google Home can entertain, educate and inform in the shortest
possible time periods. With your preferences set up to your exact
requirements the Financial Times can become a part of your daily
routine or even dominate it if this is your specialist field.
You do not need to read a lengthy newspaper to catch the most
informed financial information, but it does help. The FT content on
Google Home is the icing on the cake from a trusted source.
You may be surprised at just how
interesting and wide-ranging the topics
