CHAPTER 2 Checks and Preparation
Each input terminal
The connecting procedure of the signal input cable is described.
During wiring, conrm that the signal's supply source is turned OFF to prevent electrical shocks.
Also, position the GL840 input cable away from any power lines and ground cables.
1. Voltage input
Thermocouple
+ .....................................High-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal’s high-voltage side)
- ......................................Low-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal’s low-voltage side)
2. Thermocouple input
Connect thermocouple to the + and – terminals.
3. Current input
Shunt resistance
E.g.: For 4-20mA, add 250Ω (±0.1%) resistance and
measure with a 1-5V range.
* For shunt resistance, use the B-551 (option).
Attach shunt resistance when measuring the current input.
4. Logic / pulse input
When inserting the cable, insert it while pressing here.
No. 1 to 4: High-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal’s high-voltage side)
G: Low-voltage terminal (terminal input on the input signal’s low-voltage side)
