Do you have a question about the Groeneveld BEKA-ONE and is the answer not in the manual?
The BEKA-ONE is an electromechanical lubricator designed for single-line lubrication systems. It is a piston pump that continuously conveys lubricant per piston stroke. The device is modular, consisting of a protective housing, a reservoir, and a pump body.
The BEKA-ONE is designed to convey oil or grease up to NLGI 2. It is suitable for various applications, including gear pumps, multi-line oil pumps, multi-line grease pumps, single-line central lubrication systems, dual-line central lubrication systems, oil circulation central lubrication systems, oil-air and spray lubrication, wheel flange central lubrication, rolling mill central lubrication systems, utility vehicle central lubrication systems, progressive distributors, and control and monitoring devices. The device can be configured with either a follower plate reservoir or a cartridge. The follower plate reservoir has a filling volume of 120 ml, and the cartridge has a filling volume of 120 ml. The device can be easily refilled or replaced depending on the reservoir type. It features a processor-controlled electronic + LED display for control and pressure monitoring. The operational voltage is 3.0 V, depending on the used batteries.
The BEKA-ONE offers flexible lubrication intervals, ranging from 1 month to 24 months, depending on the chosen settings. The device can be filled with lubricant either by detaching the protective housing and turning it counter-clockwise, or by unscrewing the cover from the cartridge. For follower plate reservoirs, the piston must be pressed down until the red piston is at the upper edge. For cartridges, the cartridge is inserted into the device, and the protective housing is tightened. The device features an activation magnet and an activation zone for setting the month and activation. The LED bar indicates the current functional state and any errors. The device can be switched on or off by checking whether the device is switched on or off, and then pressing the settings button. The activation magnet can be placed on the activation zone to set the month setting. The LED strip provides visual feedback on the device's status and any potential issues.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the BEKA-ONE. This includes checking all components for leakages and damage every 4 weeks, checking the device for operating and functional reliability, and checking whether the device conveys lubricant. When using a high-pressure cleaner or steam cleaner to clean the vehicle or the machine, do not expose the device directly to the jet to prevent water from getting into the device, e.g., at a vent hole. However, during normal operation, no water can get into the device.
Lubricant change involves cleaning the device thoroughly when refilling the lubricant. The level in the reservoir of the device should be checked regularly, and clean lubricant should be refilled if necessary. For follower plate reservoirs, the piston should be filled until the follower plate reservoir. If the device has been emptied completely by accident, proceed as described under 9.1.1 Initial filling when using a reservoir with follower plate for refilling. Then follow the instructions under 9.1.3 Fill the reservoir with follower plate. The lubricant specifications of the manufacturer should be carried out. Environmental influences like increased temperature or pollution can shorten the intervals. Only lubricants suitable for the device as well as the machine to be lubricated and which meet the requirements of the respective operating conditions should be used. When different suppliers are used, ensure that the lubricant quality corresponds to the quality of the previously filled lubricant. As a precaution, the lubricant reservoir should be drained and cleaned properly.
Battery change involves disposing of used batteries properly and professionally according to local regulations. The device uses 2x AA batteries. The battery type can be alkaline, rechargeable, or lithium, with recommended temperature ranges and backpressures.
Troubleshooting is supported by flashing signals of the LED strip. Different LED colors and flash patterns indicate various states and causes, such as device currently lubricating, backpressure too high, mechanical blocking, or battery voltage too low. For example, a green LED indicates normal operation, while a red LED flashing briefly 2x every 10 seconds indicates backpressure too high or mechanical blocking. An orange LED flashing briefly 2x every 10 seconds indicates battery voltage too low.
The device can be actuated for an intermediate lubrication for a functional check. This involves pressing the activation magnet on the activation zone and holding it until the red LED has flashed 2x. The pump will start the intermediate lubrication cycle (ca. 20 s).
Switching off the device involves placing the activation magnet on the activation zone and holding it until the red and the orange LED have flashed alternately 10x. This allows for the removal of the device or replacement of batteries.
Disposal of the device and its components must be done according to national and international laws and regulations. Lubricants or cloths contaminated with lubricant should be collected and disposed of properly. Groeneveld-BEKA devices could contain batteries, and these should be properly disposed of.
