A copy of this documentation should be kept in an accessible place within the installation,
so that the personnel in charge of its use, maintenance, repair and transport have access
to it.
The user should be familiarized with the operating elements in the installation. The user
should know the consequences of each step he executes. These steps should be according
to the mentioned in the documentation.
The user should know the handling sequences in case of emergency and should rehearse
them frequently.
During the running of the genset, it’s necessary to keep under permeant observation the
instrumentation and control unit, with reference to the operation status and the values
limits, as well as the warning notices.
a) Don’t allow unqualified personnel to operate the group, prohibit the presence of
minors and/or unauthorized persons in the surroundings of the machine during its opera-
tion.
b) It’s forbidden to lean on the generator or leave objects on it.
c) Physical contact with the generator is prohibited during its operation. The engine
and exhaust zones may reach high temperatures.
d) The contact with cables and/or connections of the alternator is prohibited whilst the
group is operating.
e) In case of emergency trigger the emergency button.
f) In case of sever humidity conditions (Hr > 60%), contact GRUPEL. Apply anti-conden-
sation resistance.
g) In case of a genset installed in room, install with appropriate ventilation conditions
free from contaminations.
h) Avoid baggy clothes since they can result in risk of entrapment.
i) Keep a safe distance between the genset and any element during its operation.
j) In case of automatic groups or with remote start place a big sign announcing the
possibility of startup.
l) Do not handle flammable substances near the genset while it is operating.
m) Do not remove safety devices.
n) Allow the genset to cool before any testing.
o) Any irregularity detected in the genset operation, stop and correct the failure before
restarting. Consult the installation manual, problem solution section.
p) Periodically inspect that the electrical wiring is in good conditions.
q) The Gensets with batteries that contain sulfuric acid should observe the following
precautions:
• In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty of water;
• In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek
medical attention.
• In case of ingestion, drink incessantly water, milk or vegetable oil and seek medical
attention.
