DANGER!
There is a risk of fire and explosion. Do not expose a battery to fire or electrical sparks.
Identify correctly the positive and negative terminals. Risk of spark and explosion in
case of mistake switch.
Battery electrolyte is corrosive.
Protect eyes, skin and clothing while handling batteries.
Wear personal protective equipment - goggles and gloves.
In case of splashing:
In the skin. Wash with plenty of soap and water.
In the eyes. Rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Call for medical assistance.
Switching the battery on:
1) connect the wire (+) to the terminal (+) of the battery;
2) connect the wire (-) to the negative terminal (-) of the battery.
Switching the battery off:
1) Disconnecting the negative terminal cable (-);
2) Disconnecting the positive terminal cable (+).
5.3.4.1. SWITCHING THE BATTERIES ON AND OFF
Impurities and oxidation at the terminals can produce
voltage drops and consequent sparks/ electrical discharg-
es in humid environments.
• Keep batteries dry and clean;
• Clean the terminals;
• Clean the terminals of oxidation and impurities with a
metal brush;
• Retighten the cable lugs and lubricate with Vaseline.
