» The responsibilities of employees for the use and maintenance must be defined by the
facility owner or the user.
Individual Protection
» Technicians should wear suitable protective clothing, goggles and gloves;
» Technicians should remove any personal objects, such as bracelets, watches, etc. that
may interfere with the equipment in operation, avoiding the occurrence of accidents.
» Before starting any maintenance operation, block the possibility that the equipment may
inadvertently be put into operation. Place a plate on it to alert maintenance;
» Disconnect the battery and / or other starting systems before starting any maintenance
operations;
» Check regularly that the safety equipment is working correctly;
» Handle the equipment in accordance with best practice, so not to create hazardous
situations.
Equipment Protection
» Use tools in good condition and suitable for the work to be done;
» Ensure correct understanding of maintenance instructions before commencing any
intervention;
» Respect the Maintenance Plan and its recommendations. In unfavorable environments,
reduce the interval between maintenances accordingly;
» Verify that the parts and/or consumables to be applied are only provided by Grupel, its
Distributor, or conforming;
» Braided nuts or bolts should be removed avoiding the use of electric or pneumatic
wrenches.
Cleaning the equipment
» Clean all traces of oil, fuel, or coolant with clean cloths;
» Only use approved solvents;
» The engine should be kept clean. Do not leave cloths soaked over the engine. Do not store
flammable material near the engine.
» Methods and cleaning products that are absolutely prohibited:
» Petroleum or other flammable substance;
» Aqueous solution containing chlorine or ammonia;
» High pressure washer.
GENERATOR OPERATING SITE
Organization
» Regularly clean the entire site using suitable cleaning materials;
» The presence of hazardous or combustible products within the premises must be limited
to those required for the operation;
» The place should be forbidden to people who do not belong to the organization, or that
did not have the necessary formation of operation and security.
Environmental respect
» Collection and delivery of all waste resulting from the operation and maintenance by
specialized/certified entities in the choice of waste.
