• Analyze samples immediately. Do not preserve for later analysis.
• After adding the DPD reagent, a pink color will develop if chlorine is present.
• If the chlorine concentration is less than 2 mg/L, use Method 8021, program number 80.
• Install the Multi-pathlength Cell into the adapter oriented for the short (1-cm) pathlength (the long pathlength is perpendicular to
the front of the instrument).

1. Touch
Hach Programs.
Select program
88 Chlor. F&T HR.
Touch
Start.
2. Fill the
multi-pathlength cell to
the 5-mL line with
sample.
3. Install the adapter.
Wipe the cell. Place the
cell into the cell adapter
and orient it for the short
pathlength.

4. Touch Zero.
The display will show:
0.0 mg/L Cl
