• For more accurate results, determine a reagent blank value for each new lot of reagent. Follow the procedure using deionized
water in place of the sample. Subtract the reagent blank value from the final results or perform a reagent blank adjust. See the
instrument manual for more information on Running a Reagent Blank.
• Prepare a boiling water bath for step 4.
• Use finger cots (Cat. No. 14647-02) to handle hot sample cells.
• Undissolved powder does not affect accuracy.

2. Fill a round sample
cell with 25 mL of
sample.
3. Add the contents of
one Chromium 1 Reagent
Powder Pillow (the
prepared sample). Cap
and invert to mix.
4. Remove the cap and
place the prepared
sample into a boiling
water bath.
