• For more accurate results, determine a reagent blank value for each new lot of reagent. Follow the procedure using deionized
water in place of the sample. See the instrument manual for more information on Running a Reagent Blank.
• At high chromium levels, a precipitate will form. Dilute the sample according to Section 2.7 Sample Dilution on page 21.
• The final samples are highly acidic. Neutralize to pH 6–9 with Sodium Hydroxide Standard Solution (Cat. No. 2450-26) and flush
down the drain for disposal. For more information on pollution prevention and waste management, refer to Section 4.

1. Touch

90 Chromium, Hex.
Touch
Start.
2. Fill a round sample
cell with 10 mL of
sample.
3. Add the contents of
one ChromaVer® 3
Reagent Powder Pillow
to the sample cell (the
prepared sample). Cap
and invert gently to mix.
A purple color will form if
hexavalent chromium is
present.
4. Touch the timer icon.
Touch
OK.
A five-minute reaction
period will begin.
