InfoCaster R2100 Hardware Installation Manual
Plasma Display Configuration
InfoCaster plays InfoCasts to an output monitor. This may be a VGA monitor, a video monitor, a desktop
video window, or a plasma display, depending on your hardware configuration.
Plasma Display
Control
You can use a serial port trigger to turn an output plasma display on or off
according to a weekly schedule. In the Plasma Display Control dialog, you
specify the plasma display and the times at which to turn the display on or off.
1 With InfoCaster running, select Tools > Plasma Display Control to open
the Plasma Display Control panel.

2 Select the COM port that connects to the plasma display screen from the
COM Port list.
3 Select the plasma make and model from the Plasma Display drop-down
list.
By default, InfoCaster supports NEC PlasmSync Plasma Display
42PD2-50PD1 and NEC Plasma Display PX-42VP4 displays. To control a
different make and model, you must manually edit the PlasmaXMLFile.xml
file that stores this configuration. See
“Plasma XML File” on page 45.
Note: To play to a plasma display without controlling its schedule, you do
not need to add the device to the PlasmaXMLFile.xml file. The
plasma device plays continuously.
