Plasma XML File
The PlasmaXMLFile.xml file contains the information displayed in the Plasma
Display Control dialog, including the available COM ports, available plasma
displays, and automatic display control schedule.
InfoCaster creates the PlasmaXMLFile.xml file the first time you click OK to
close the Plasma Display Control dialog. The file is located in the
InfoCasterXML folder of your InfoCaster installation, by default, Program
Files\Harris\InfoCaster.
You can use any text or XML editor (for example, Microsoft Word) to edit the
PlasmaXMLFile.xml file. It is recommended that you close the InfoCaster
Plasma Display Control dialog before editing the PlasmaXMLFile.xml file.
Edit the File
To add information for a new plasma display to the PlasmaXMLFile.xml file,
complete the following steps.
1 Open the PlasmaXMLFile.xml file and scroll to the bottom of the file.
2 Copy the contents between <Display> and </Display>, including the
<Display> and </Display> tags. This is referred to as a Display element.
The Display element contains sub-elements, such as BaudRate, ByteSize,
and Parity. See
“Example Plasma XML File” on page 48.
Note: The file generally contains multiple Display elements. You only need
to copy the last element.
Some editors display tags graphically instead of as <Display> and
</Display>.
3 Create a new Display element specifying the value for each sub-element
between its opening and closing tags (for example, <BaudRate> and
</BaudRate>).
Table 2-6 on page 46 describes each sub-element tag in
the Display element.
4 Paste the new Display element after the copied element so that it is now
the last one in the file before the </PlasmaControl> tag.
5 Save and close the edited PlasmaXMLFile.xml file.
The new plasma display is now available in the Plasma Display Control
panel.
