4.4.2 Control Section
This section of the GUI screen is always visible. There are two sections of this screen,
selection between them is controlled by the TX and Exciter tabs at the bottom. The TX
tab is active in Figure 4-4 and shows the transmitter ON and OFF buttons at the top, the
digital power raise and lower buttons below and an alternate action button at the bottom
for enabling or disabling the remote control.
The Exciter tab enables the control screen for the Exciters. This gives the operator control
of the exciter switcher. This panel can activate or disable automatic Exciter switching,
and select either Exciter at any time. If automatic Exciter switching is enabled, switching
manually to an Exciter that is below the 50% RF output threshold, will result in an
automatic switch back to the original Exciter. Changing to manual operation will allow
this operation.
4.5 Status and Metering Screens
Home Screen Page (Figure 4-4)
The home page displays transmitter ON OFF status, remote control status and drive
chain status. In this GUI application, the switch-able part of the drive chain is between
Exciters when the optional Exciter is present. This home page also displays the
transmitter system output power, reflected power, and individual PA cabinet forward
power readings. The digital metering of EVM and SNR complete the ability of this page
to display the most important transmitter operating parameters.
