( ) Cl?. Cut one lead of a 10 µµf tubular
ceramic capacitor to 5/8". Connect and
solder the short lead of this capacitor one-
half turn from the end of the coil that has
the short lead. See Detail 4D.
( ) Connect the final tank coil and capacitor
combination from lug 9 of tube socket V4
(S-1) to the bottom lead of feed -through
capacitor T (S-2). See Detail 4D.
( ) Connect the free end of the 10 µµf capacitor
to lug 11 of switch Z (S-1). See Pictorial 4
on Page 18.
This completes the wiring of the oscillator and
final amplifier section of the HW-30. Check all
connections to be sure that they are securely
soldered and that all components have been
properly installed. The only connections in this
area that should not be soldered are lug 2 of
terminal strip L and lug 6 of tube socket V4.
RECEIVER SECTION WIRING
Refer to Pictorial 5 for the following steps.
) C25. Connect a .001 µfd disc ceramic capac-
itor from lug 1 of terminal strip S (NS) to
the ground lug nearest lug 6 of tube socket
V3 (NS).
) C26. Connect another .001 µfd disc ceramic
capacitor from lug 2 of terminal strip S (NS)
to the ground lug nearest lug 6 of tube socket
V3 (NS).
) R9. Connect a 270 n (red -violet -brown)
resistor from lug 8 of tube socket V3 (NS)
to the ground lug nearest lug 6 of V3 (S-3).
) Connect an RF choke (#45-37) from lug 3
of V3 (NS) to ground lug P (S-1).
) C24. Connect one lead
of the 7.5 µµf silver
mica capacitor through lug
4 (5-1) to lug 3
(S-2) of tube socket V3.
Connect the other
lead to lug 6 of V3 (NS).
Refer to Pictorial 6 for the following steps.

) Install the RF choke (#45-48) CA.
) Similarly install coils CB (#40-333) andCC
(#40- 334).
