2.1 Device Startup and Activation
2.1.1 Starting Up and Shutting Down the NVR
Purpose:
Proper startup and shutdown procedures are crucial to expanding the life of the NVR.
Before you start:
Check that the voltage of the extra power supply is the same with the NVR’s requirement, and the
ground connection is working properly.
Starting up
Step 1 Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet. It is HIGHLY recommended that an
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) be used in conjunction with the device.
Shutting down
Step 1 Go to Menu > Shutdown.

Step 2 Click the Shutdown button.
Step 3 Click the Yes button.
Step 4 When the dialog box “Please power off” shows, unplug the power supply.
Rebooting
Step 1 Go to Menu > Shutdown.
Step 2 Click the Logout button to lock the NVR or the Reboot button to reboot the NVR.
