4.28 4-Corner Brake and Steer—Caster Assembly
Tools required: Screwdriver
Caster blocks
Bed frame jack
13 mm socket
Ratchet
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery cable from the control board (refer to procedure 4.7
on page 4-16).
WARNING:
Failure to unplug the bed could cause injury or equipment damage.
2. Unplug the bed from its power source.
WARNING:
Put caster blocks behind the casters at the opposite end of the bed.
Failure to do so could cause injury.
3. Put caster blocks behind the casters at the opposite end of the bed that you
are to work on.
4. Use a jack to lift the applicable end of the bed off of the floor.
5. Remove the end cap (A) from the bed frame (see figure 4-29 on page 4-64).
6. Put the brake pedal (B) in the neutral position.
7. Loosen the nut (C).
8. Remove the brake pedal (B).
9. Remove the caster (D) from the caster mount (E).
Replacement
1. Do the removal procedure in the reverse order.
2. Do the “Function Checks” on page 2-2.
