■ Cleaning air cleaner primary element
1. Remove the air cleaner cover and primary
element.
2. Remove the sponge material from its
frame.
3. Wash the sponge material gently but
thoroughly in solvent.
4. Squeeze the excess solvent out of the
sponge material and let it dry.
5. Inspect the sponge material and replace it
if damaged.
6. Thoroughly apply foam air filter oil or other
quality liquid foam air filter oil (not spray
type) to the sponge material.
7. Re-install the air filter element.
8. Install the air filter case cover and be sure
the crankcase breather hose is connected.

IMPORTANT
⚫ The air cleaner uses a dry element never
apply oil.
⚫ Do not run the engine with filter element
removed.
