High-speed print
HM mode NM mode Remarks
HM mode is equivalent to particle use
percentage of 1/1.
In the 2-line print setting, NM mode is
equivalent to ink drop use percentage
of 1/1.5.
If the line speed remains the same,
print width in the NM mode will widen
by 1.5 times with respect to HM mode.
Setting high-speed printing (Optional on RX-S)
(1) Overview
● When the character size setting is 5 x 7 or 5 x 8 dots, and print line is set to 2 or 3 lines, three modes of HM,
NM or QM can be selected.
By selecting the mode, high quality printing result can be ensured according to the line speed.
Necessary conditions to perform high-speed print
● When all necessary conditions from Nos. 1 to 7 are satisfied, high-speed print HM, NM or QM
mode can be selected.

1 Character size Character size is 5 x 7 or 5 x 8 for all printing items.
2 Print line Number of lines is 2 or 3 in all columns.
3 Line spacing Line spacing is equal in all columns.
4 Barcode No barcode is set for any print items.
5 Character orientation Set value of character orientation is 0 or 1.
6 Ink drop use percentage Ink drop use percentage: 1/1
Type of high-speed print and number of vertical dots used
● Number of vertical dots used in high-speed print is shown in Table below.
● When calculating printing preparation time, etc., pay attention to number of vertical dots.
